WHAT TRAINEES SAY ABOUT SOUNDS-WRITE TRAINING

  • A thorough and structured literacy program for teaching reading and spelling. There were plenty of videos to watch and practise with. The trainers allowed many chances for discussion via video conferences and on the provided discussion board. Very busy, but very worth it.

  • I loved everything about this course! The content, the way it was presented and how I will now be able to use this in my work. Completing the course online was also a very positive experience, the videos were detailed and it was presented very clearly. As someone who had not had a lot of experience teaching those early reading skills, I now feel very confident about how I can systematically teach reading and spelling within my context.

  • I highly recommend the Sounds-Write course. The online delivery was outstanding. The theory behind it, practical exercises, quizzes, forum and video examples were very thorough. It is the most comprehensive course I have done on literacy intervention. I found the trainers were passionate and very knowledgeable.

  • "It is the most practical and informative course I have ever been on. It provides lots of opportunity for ideas and suggestions of application in the classroom for all ages."

  • "Sounds-Write saves time. Just be prepared to let go of other phonics/spellings routines because you don't need them when you teach Sounds Write."

  • "Thank you for the outstanding training and the consistency of your messages.  This has helped me with areas of scepticism - and I am no longer a sceptic".

  • "Great structure.  Good balance of theory and practice.  Excellent skills of the trainers".

  • "Be prepared to gain a huge amount of information".

  • "Demonstrations by Maureen and Helen were very helpful".

  • "This Sounds-Write course provides you with quality material that is evidence based, practical and well delivered. The trainers are extremely approachable, provide continued support and education. I would highly recommend this online course."

  • "Glad I could do the course before the start of the new school year".

  • "Thank you Maureen and Helen.  Your experience and expertise is invaluable in answering everyone's questions".

  • "I'd advise people to go and learn this well structured phonics based system to use in your classroom".

  • "The whole course was very helpful but certainly the planning and sequence was useful as well as case studies".

  • "I loved the sequential nature of the program.  The lesson plans and demonstrations of lessons.  It was all very practical and user friendly.  Thank you ladies it was awesome".

  • I have found it really fantastic course and I love all the video inclusions as I find if I don’t hear things as well as I liked I just replay them.

  • "I loved the simplicity of the teaching approach of this course and how it allows flexibility to accommodate differences in learners".

  • "There's a lot of information to take in but you are well supported. It is a positive, inspirational course".

  • "I have already recommended the course and will continue to do so".

  • "Fantastic opportunity,.  Now I just have to get it into every classroom and school I work at".

  • "Excellent preparation by both presenters.  Huge energy and passion for the SoundsWrite course".

  • "Sounds-Write Revisited was an incredibly useful refresher course. It enabled me to really process the rationale behind the programme and to develop more confidence in teaching it. It was great to see the programme in action through the videos and also to video myself teaching. This provided great insight into my teaching approach and prompted a lot of self reflection.

  • Being able to attend a self-paced course has been helpful as a busy business owner and speech pathologist. It has meant being able to integrate my learning throughout the week and have a few days to process and learn the material! Overall, the trainers and support from Maureen and Helen (even sending some reminders a few days before if I hadn't handed something in) was really helpful

  • I have thoroughly enjoyed the sounds-write course. I think the way the online course eis structured creates a great learning environment and I have really enjoyed the practice it has given me. I can now go ahead confidently in my approach to teaching literacy.

  • The online Sounds-Write course was very in depth and flexible and I could not recommend it enough to those who are working and wishing to add the qualification at the same time. I acquired a lot of new knowledge and skills and am very excited to integrate it into my work.

  • I would highly recommend this course to anyone who assists children in any area related to learning how to read and write.

  • A great course with fantastic structure throughout and it practices what it preaches in terms of leaning, cognative load and retrieval of knowledge and skills.

  • A well presented online course backed up with a comprehensive manual, very helpful online support personnel and would be most helpful for those wanting to enter into the teaching of phonics and getting results for their students with spelling and reading.

  • The course is very thorough and structured. It takes a while getting used to reading from a script as this doesn't come naturally to most teachers but I understand the importance of consistency and routines within lessons.

  • I loved the learning. It was a lot to fit in around work/home, BUT because it made so much sense I quite enjoyed it so made it happen ... just !! I Sounds Write is so relevant. Julie

  • The whole approach to teaching phonics by using Sound-Write just makes sense. The scaffolding of the program enables the learner to be able to gain the knowledge of the code and it's structure, how sounds and words go together, step by step in a simple but powerful effective way.

  • The Sounds Write training has been incredibly helpful for teaching me more about how to teach children to read and write.

  • This course is well worth the time and imparts a wealth of knowledge to a range of educators for us to be able to teach our students to read and to help those who struggle. I have been teaching for 20 years in an early years capacity and I regret not doing this training sooner. It just makes perfect sense.
